I studied photography at City College of San Francisco, and
lived in San Francisco for about eight years from 1974 to
1982 as a photographer and ambulance driver. 8 years
photographer, 1 year ambulance driver/photographer in SF,
which prolonged my two years of study to about 2.5 years at
CCSF, and I got a job as the staff photographer at University
of the Pacific,SF when I was just one humanities class short
of a degree. Drat the luck! I took the job..and did a lot of
freelance work and art photography and just enjoyed the
hell out of being in SF, and the whole "scene" through the
seventies and into the eighties, till I screwed everything up
and almost committed suicide before I realized the benefits
of being pragmatic and flexible (with gun in hand), and
learning that life doesn't always have to go as you planned it
(assuming you actually had a plan), especially when you
behave self-destructively, which I did quite a lot of..but..no
regrets here, I had one hell of a time..in San Francisco!

The last show I had in San Francisco was at Vesuvio, across Jack Kerouac Alley from City Lights Book Store, in North Beach. A
historic bar of the "Beat Generation" and hangout of many that have inspired me over the years. I was honored to have my work shown
there, and hope they are still having fun.
