Jungle Journal 9-22-2007, by Thomas Scott Daly
A month has leaped by since the last Jungle Journal entry. I wish I had
something interesting to add after all this time, but, Alas, am devoid of a single
interesting thing to say, by my standards anyhow (which are well-known to be
low), yet I won't let that stop me, by any means, from driveling on, regardless.
I might spend some time sharing my problems with you regarding the recent
discovery (thanks to the Costa Rica Policia) that I no longer hold a valid
California drivers license. It expired over a year ago. My how time flies! I was
bumbling along thinking I was good for a year or two..guess I sorta fucked up
on this one. Good thing the cops are all corrupt here and just want a few
bucks in their hand instead of actually bringing criminals like myself to swift
justice.
I am in the laborious process of finding a corrupt way to get a new license,
which is zen-like, and intinsic towards making the circle go round and round.
Sadly, Mini-Mutt is at the vet's with a bad infection. She has been there for a
couple of days now and is on an I.V. It's not pretty, but not hopeless either. I
will go and visit her in the morning, which is a Sunday, when Dr Fernando
goes in to do his thing, whatever that is, on a Sunday. She's a sweet little dog
and I want to encourage her to hang in there. MINI-MUTT! MINI-MUTT!,
MINI-MUTT! She's the fastest of The Muttly Crew and can outrun me on the
motorcycle untill I hit smooth road.
Muttly and Muttinhead have been kinda sick too and have had injections etc.
They aren't too bad off, but lack their normal exuberance and obsessive need
to follow my every move. Usually if I stop fast, i got one up my ass. Lately,
they mostly just lay in their quiet spots. I hope all returns to normal soon...not
cause I like em up my ass, but I do love their enthusiam and that innocent joy
of life. ..sounds good anyhow..
It's still rainy in the afternoons. This morning was glorious. The light..ah, the
light.
Plugging away on the house. Poco y poco. Interior design decisions plague
me.
Pura Vida,
Tom
