It's raining.  I attribute this to having decided to water
down "the yard" this afternoon.  I usually have left
nature to it's own devices, but finally felt the plants
and gravel needed a drink.  I also watered the roof.

Now it's raining pretty good, and things feel cooler
and fresher already.  Imagine that.

This aftrnoon I got a lead on an architect from
Dominical that seems quite promising and I will meet
with her tomorrow.  I am also suppose to meet with
Julio tomorrow so maybe I can get some things
hooked up with the new house...Julio, Juan, architect...

Sadie called and wants to clean the house tomorrow
instead of Saturday.  I said .."OK".  It may be good
having Sadie here when the architect shows up..not
sure why, but can't think why not either, besides,
Sadie sometimes needs to juggle her schedule, and I
don't have much of one myself.

I took Muttinhead for an afternoon ride to Dominical
for a shopping trip.  I needed a new pipe and the
place has been closed the last couple of times I was
there.  They were open today and I got a cool pipe
that oughta do the job.
In fact..it's doing the job as I write.

I kinow many of my journals are critical and sort of
dour..that's why I wrote this one.  ..cause it's so
upbeat.
Muttinhead, after a few days of
clean up and eye scrubbing   You
can see it's not all cleaned out yet,
and it took months to get rid of the
infection.  Her eyes still need
semi-regular treatment, but in
general she is in excellent health
and has gotten a bit chubby as
testiment to her new-found afluent
situation..
note:  I know "Muttinhead" should be
spelled "Muttonhead", but I like
Muttinhead better, so that's her
name.
she's a very cool animal
She was pretty much settling in to die next door, and no
one had been there for months.  No SPCA to call here, I
already had taken in two dogs since being here (just a few
months), and this one looked kinda scary and very sick.
I even had to consider putting her out of her misery
somehow.  One day I saw her following my dogs towards
the river.  She wasn't walking very well, but had a kind of
goofy enthusiasm..like "Oh boy, oh boy, let's go play".  It
broke my heart.  I took her in.  I couldn't bear to see an
animal die such a lonely miserable death.  It was one of
the best things I've ever done,  for both of us.  She's a
great dog and is very fun to have a around.
From a program on Animal Planet the other
day, I think she's a
Portugese Water Dog.
She is accompanied by a worthy pair
of scoundrels, Muttly..seen above, and
Mini-Mutt..to the right.
