Photographs from Bethel Island, California

Me and my son, Sid.
Killing stuffed animals with my .44 MAGNUM
The Bride Wore Black
(possibly the title for my new
book)..what's that? Already
been done...fuck.
Home, sweet home for three or four
months until I found a slip to move into,
when winter set in.
Sometimes she jumped on my chest in the
middle of the night. She knew how to push my
buttons. I broke both my little toes chasing
her around the house in the dark. She flew out
the door a few times at awkward angles.
Relationships are always work.
Wherever we could find
them, that's where we went.

My sailboat, OPUS, going downwind on Frank's Tract, off Bethel Island, CA. 1998
Local cartoonist, Paul
found my obvious likeness
to Santa Claus not to his
liking. I never found it
comfortable either.
I can not recount the numbers of great times I had on this boat. It always got us
home, one way, or another. GONZ BLESS OPUS, the sailboat!! AND, Gonz
Bless the hardy, yet often foolish crew that manned him. OPUS! Opus was a
male boat, by name; a bit of a rarity it seems, but then, after all..what's in a name?
Another productive meeting of the illustrious *C.R.S. Club of Bethel
Island. Fine dining, good company, cocktails and big stinky cigars.
*(Can't Remember Shit)
Cheers to you all!
Jolly good fun at The Boat House
Veronica Lake. Also known as Bonnie. Miss you, as do we all.

Hi INGRID!
Photo at left for humorous purposes.
Nothing funny about photos above.

Bill Bellici..(it think I have the spelling wrong.)
shit..I will research and get the spelling
right...anyhow...when i landed on Bethel Island Bill
owned The Boat House and was in general, a major
player in the whole "scene". He let me put my photos
up all around the horseshoe shaped bar, and
generally was a great fun mover and shaker of
Bethel Island.
I played once on The Boat House dart team against
Franks Bar and Grill. The whole tournament came
down to me against a Real Estate Agent on Frank's
Bar and Grill team...playing a game of Cricket. Bill
knew me from uncountable nights at his bar, and was
familiar with my sometimes uncanny dart skills. He
ordered me up two Korbel Brandy's..on the
rocks..and put them in my hands. It was a brutal
match...much like center court at Wimbleton..double
championship point....WHAM! I hit the trip twenty
and BOAT HOUSE WINS! A great moment...with me
and Bill Bellici. (nobody ever knew my last name on
Bethel Island..I was just "Korbel Tom")...I'll get his
name spelled right ..he deserves it. Thank you
Bill Bellici. If I was worth a shit, I'd have a better
photo of you than this too.
Bill was a legend. Legendary figure...I dunno..but,
loved the guy, and he did an awful lot to make Bethel
Island a fun fucking place to live. He impacted my
life, and many others in a very good way. So many
fun stories, invasions of Port Costa, putting cake
candles up his nose when he passed out on the
bar.....where to start?
CHEERS! Bill. You are well remembered.
